Antico Arco is a restaurant with a small and cozy interior decorated in minimalist style. It became especially nice after refit in 2007. The restaurant is located on top of the Gianicolo hill. You can have a great view of the city from there.
The chef of the restaurant is Patrizia Mattei who became famous in the 90s. She tried to find herself in other professions but tradition of her family was stronger and Patrizia returned to culinary sphere. Now  Patrizia Mattei works with her husband Maurizio Minore. Together they create a perfect dining venue.
There are two rooms upstairs and two rooms downstairs in the restaurant, so the tables are spread between them. There is a wine-bar lobby in Antico Arco. You can have a drink there waiting for the seat when the restaurant is packed.
The place is undiscovered by most tourists. It is not formal therefore it may not be suitable for official receptions. However, it is elegant and refined. The venue specializes on Roman cuisine with a modern take. You can get excellent service at this place.  The waiters can speak English. Antico Arco does not have a view and tables outside. However, elegant interior compensates that. The customers feel great in the dining rooms with cream-painted brick walls and intimate lighting.
Trying dishes in Antico Arco is like to make a gastronomic tour of Italy. The ingredients for meals are carefully sourced. Spaghetti all’amatriciana, a classical dish for Rome. This dish was enhanced as the chef added guanciale bacon to it, brought from the Conero peninsula in Le Marche. The signature dish of Antico Arco is risotto with castelmagno cheese and new entries of tonnarelly with bottarga, coriander and artichokes. There are many extraordinary fish and meat dishes on the menu. The dessert features choreographic design. Try tiramisu of white chocolate or molten chocolate cake. Sommelier Domenico Calió can advise the best wine for your meal. The prices are sensible for the cuisine of such caliber. The average price for the meal is €50.
